Dinner with Friends at Dorian
Last Thursday, we celebrated with friends the Indiana Jones™ | Métier collaboration over dinner at Dorian, one of my favourite places in Notting Hill.
This entire process has been surreal. From Joanna Johnston's first email asking to meet, to all of the design sessions, receiving ‘top secret’ branded boxes with fabrics from the movie set, going to the Premiere on Monday with Jo Ellison and Joanna, seeing the movie with our entire team when it was released, and celebrating with friends last Thursday. I am so proud of what we have created—and so proud how well the collection was received.
But as many of you know, Métier is not just about the products—it's about the entire community that surrounds us. And you are at the heart of it.
Thank you so much for your constant support. Your belief in us and what we do at Métier drives our entire team more than you know. We are a small team with big ambitions. So let’s raise a glass, to all of you—and of course to Indiana Jones.
With love,
Melissa
Setting
Seasonal foliage from our friends at the Tuk Tuk Flower Studio were placed around the white-clothed tables, by the banquettes upholstered in British racing-green-coloured leather.
Placement
Place cards with Indy’s signature silhouette, a rope fashioned around the napkin as a lasso and an envelope with a personalised handwritten note inserted inside.
Variations of Indy's unmistakable silhouette are also printed on our Rust Elvis small leather goods, including the Deck of Cards Case and Notebook Cover.
Menus inside Indy’s leather jacket
“So at the end of the film, we’ve got all this fabric. When Melissa and I were talking, we said, ‘why don’t we input those into the interior? Indy’s leather jacket is in there, Indy’s shirt, Helena’s trousers, I mean all these different pieces. Those are super collectible, because that’s finite and it won’t exist anymore. We thought it was fun, because it’s the real deal.” - Joanna Johnston, the film’s award-winning costume designer.
For an extra special touch, our guests each received a leather folder made from Indy’s actual leather jacket. Tucked inside were the dinner and drinks menu. We were treated to Head Chef Max Coen’s notorious cuisine, featuring an array of dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients and shared, family-style.
Cocktails
Unique concoctions were crafted for the night, with names paying homage to some of the most famous lines in the franchise.

Film Premiere
On Monday 26th June, Joanna Johnston, Melissa and Jo Ellison (Editor of HTSI) went to the London Premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Here, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character in the film carries her signature vintage hunting bag which became the inspiration for Métier’s Hunter Messenger.
Flagship
In true Indy spirit, our Mayfair Flagship displayed the bags featured in the film, set against props used on the set of our editorial photoshoot.
In The Press
“I like the thing of a huge brand like Indiana Jones™ collaborating with a smaller company, and the fact that Melissa’s the only designer. She’s got this small, intimate company, which is making extremely high-quality goods. I think that’s the really nice thing.” - Joanna Johnston
