Sunday Paper Edition 010: Summer in Europe

15 August 2021

As restrictions ease this summer, we packed our bags to set off to some of our favourite places dotted across Europe.

To celebrate the romance of the summer adventure, we have put together a short travel guide and paired our latest reads with a perfect summer drink and a playlist to set the mood.

Where We’re Heading

Be it to dine at the renowned La Colombe d’Or or catch the sun at the gorgeous Le Sirenuse, we invite you to pack your Métier and discover (or revisit) some of our favourite getaways shared in our European Summer Travel Guide.  Each place on our list embodies quality, a relaxed, discreet ambiance and makes us wish summer days would never end.

What We’re Drinking

This month we are sipping on el VINO’s vibrant and fun first rosé. Fresh, floral and herbaceous in style it was created, with an idea that wine should be paired not only with your food but with your life, a philosophy we thoroughly agree with. An all-female initiative, el VINO is a brainchild of four friends —Daniela Vargas Dieppa, Ramya Giangola, Sofia Ajodan and Jessica Flesh—and a fourth generation winemaker— Lourdes ‘Lulu’ Martinez Ojeda— who learned her craft working for fifteen years at the Chateau Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, France.

Discover and shop El Vino’s decadent new wines here.

What We’re Reading

Having loved Double Blind by Edward St. Aubyn, we picked up Lost for Words— the perfect lighthearted read for the sunshine.

Although snubbed by the Man Booker prize for his widely-acclaimed Mother’s Milk, St Aubyn’s Lost for Words is more than what could be seen as a dig at the judging panel. It poses the very serious question about the value and place of art in a celebrity-obsessed world, where personal agendas are put above the recognition of real talent.

What We’re Listening To

Grab your glass of el Vino and tune in to our specially curated August Playlist. Let the good times begin.
